Beginning last Friday, October 2nd, the U.S. Postal Service deliberately began slowing down mail delivery for a majority of 1st class mail. According to an article in The Washington Post, The Postmaster General, Trump appointee Lewis Dejoy, said the move was necessary in order to slash costs. Many people believe the move was a deliberate, politically inspired move to undermine the public's faith in the USPS® and to further chip away at voting by mail.
The most troubling aspect of the slowdown could be for movers looking to file a Change of Address request (PS Form 3575). People use this service to make sure that mail which gets sent to their old address gets forwarded to their new address. The process, which was slow and cumbersome to begin with, now really threatens movers with the possibility of even more mail being late or lost.
It seems as if this makes AddressWizard's 1-Stop Change of Address Service™ even more valuable. The AddressWizard® service updates everyone at the same time, including the Post Office and everyone else who sends you mail. Because AddressWizard's team updates all your companies directly, mail won't get lost because of the new postal slow downs.
Be safe. Be smart. Use AddressWizard. Now more than ever!
